Key words: sarcoidosis, skin lesions, erythema nodosum.
Summary. Skin manifestations are observed in 20 to 25% of patients with sarcoidosis. Cutaneous lesions of sarcoidosis may be specific, showing histologically noncaseating granulomas, or nonspecific, most typically erythema nodosum. We describe a 23 year old female patient in whom erythema nodosum heralded the diagnosis of sarcoidosis. Erythema nodosum being an early sign of sarcoidosis, usually associated with the benign prognosis of the disease.
